In this episode, we had the pleasure of welcoming our guests Riccardo Vincelli and Xavier Touati from Renesas, a global leader in microcontrollers, analog, power and SoC products.

Riccardo Vincelli has been with Renesas for 23 years and currently serves as Director of the Functional Safety Competence Center, leading an international team of experts. With almost two decades of experience in developing HW/SW components for functional safety applications, he now oversees technical assessments for various products and contributes to internal safety processes and methodology.

Xavier Touati is a Senior Manager in Renesas’ Automotive Marketing Department, where he focuses on system architecture for ADAS and AD systems. He specializes in Functional Safety, Security, and Artificial Intelligence. Xavier joined NEC Electronics/Renesas in 2005 after graduating from INP Grenoble/Phelma with a degree in microelectronics.

We spoke with Riccardo and Xavier about the semiconductors’ point of view on the biggest challenges in the AV industry, gaps in the standardization activities, and the main challenges in bringing level 4 to the road.

Tune in to learn more about our guests’ approach to safety problems and understanding of safety and architecture.
